Handcrafted in Chico, Photography
I grew up in the 70s and was never too far from a camera. I remember my dad building a darkroom in the bathroom of our house when I was 4 and being fascinated even then with the process of developing film and printing photos. In 4th grade at Citrus Elementary, our teacher (Mr. Scott) built a darkroom in the coat-closet of our classroom so those who were interested could learn the art. Again in high school I took photography classes and enjoyed the magical process. I also had the privilege of working with a number of local photographers over the years, all of whom were generous, patient and immeasurably helpful to me. Thank you to Ron Schwager, Tom DuVall, the late Rudy Giscombe for all of your mentorship, I had you all in mind as I created this piece.
